The future is bright in Aberdeen.

On Sunday, the IronBirds won their 83rd game of the season, matching a franchise record from the 1996 season. The talent is lucious for the Class A Single-Season Affiliate for the Baltimore Orioles, and it’s gotten even better with the addition of Adley Rutschman.

The No. 1 overall pick is considered a transcendent talent and is quickly finding his groove at the plate. He went 5-for-5 on Monday night and is batting .325 during a 10-game hit streak.

While Rutschman’s bat is a big reason why he is in Baltimore, his character is also highly regarded and that’s shown. Following his career night, Rutschman provided one young fan, who was asking for an autograph, with the souvenir of a lifetime.

The maturity is already booming from the 21-year-old.

It’s been a rough season at the major league level, but this is what we expected. The majority of excitement with the Orioles is at the minor league level and the new regime has already transformed the franchise into a top-10 farm system.

Rutschman’s act is one of things that goes unnoticed at the minor league level and it’s exactly what you want to see from the face of the rebuild.
