Two of the Ravens’ most exciting offensive weapons reside at quarterback and tight end.

Heading into their second seasons, big things are expected of Lamar Jackson and Mark Andrews. Jackson took over under center midway through the 2018 season, leading the Ravens to a 6-1 record, AFC North Title and a playoff berth. Andrews set franchise rookie records and is one of Jackson’s most trusted targets.

Andrews, a 2018 third-round pick, spoke with Ian Rapoport on the “RapSheet and Friends” podcast about his connection with Jackson.

The connection between Jackson and Andrews will be crucial this season.

With a relatively unproven receiving core outside of Willie Snead IV, the a large share of the production could come from the tight end group. Andrews is a shifty player for his size and can provide a mismatch for opposing linebackers and safeties.

As Jackson improve as a passer outside the numbers, Andrews can serve as a security blanket down the middle of the field. Like Joe Flacco had Dennis Pitta, Andrews could prove to be Jackson’s favorite target this season and that wouldn’t be surprising to say the least.
