The Ravens had a bit off trouble defending the Los Angeles Rams' offense on Thursday. Cooper Kupp dropped the first few passes in 11-on-11's, but he would redeem himself later. Kupp and Jared Goff were surgical, finding small creases within the pocket of Baltimore's zone defense to gain multiple first downs. Brandin Cooks also had a touchdown against the Ravens on a five-yard slant route. Robert Woods carved up Baltimore's zone as well, being found a number of times.

Baltimore was able to turn up their pass rush with Za'Darius Smith sacking Goff by chucking Rams left tackle Andrew Whitworth to the side. Baltimore also put pressure with a number of exotic blitzes being shown. Two-way player Patrick Ricard was able to generate pressure, causing a sack. He was also used in the first-team. Michael Pierce was able to generate pressure in the run game by stopping Todd Gurley. However, the running game saw its fair share of issues as well with Ravens defensive back Kai Nacua would be stiff armed by running back John Kelly.

On the offensive side of the ball, Joe Flacco hit Hayden Hurst on a 20-yard pass in the middle of the field. The 33-year old quarterback would take off on a 15-yard run on the next play. Flacco took another shot to Hurst on that drive, then handed the ball off to Gus Edwards. Unfortunately for Baltimore, Flacco overthrew a pass to Nick Boyle which ended up as an interception to John Johnson. Undrafted running back Mark Thompson also stood out with multiple broken tackles and showing off his hands in the passing game by catching balls via the wheel route.
