Training Camp Today: John Brown and Joe Flacco make noise

August 11, 2018 - 12:37 pm

Baltimore's offense got off to a hot start in practice with Joe Flacco making deep throws to John Brown. Many of the throws were over the shoulder, in stride against. Brown had one particular catch against cornerbacks Marlon Humphrey and Tavon Young where he went up top and grabbed the pass over both players. Also making solid contributions at wide receiver were Willie Snead and Michael Crabtree, who found areas of the defense to exploit and made catches.

Rookie quarterback Lamar Jackson had an up and down day, beginning with a touch pass to Vince Mayle and solid throws to receivers Breshad Perriman and Jaleel Scott. However, he'd be picked off a few times, twice were deflections. Defensive back Kai Nacua had a two of the interceptions with another coming from inside linebacker Kenny Young. Maurice Canady had the pass deflection on Nacua's first interception.

Though the Ravens didn't wear pads in Saturday's practice, running backs Alex Collins and Gus Edwards had solid days, making a few considerably large gains on running plays. Janarion Grant and DeVier Posey also made plays in the passing game. Grant made a leaping grab over cornerback Darious Williams, who is also fighting for a roster spot.

Making kick returns today were Chris Moore, Tim White and the aforementioned Grant.
