On Wednesday afternoon the Orioles dropped their eighth straight game, losing 8-3 to the Athletics and giving Oakland a 3-0 series sweep. The eight-game skid is now the longest losing streak of the season for the Birds, and it's the seventh time that Baltimore has been swept in 2019.

Trey Mancini, who leads the Orioles in several offensive categories, left the game less than an inning in after being hit by a 92-mph sinker in the left elbow. Mancini dropped to his knees in considerable pain after the baseball struck his arm. Manager Brandon Hyde and Orioles athletic trainers quickly determined that Mancini needed to leave the game. A few hours later, it was revealed that Mancini suffered an elbow contusion. He's now day-to-day until the swelling subsides and he can swing a bat without the contusion being an issue.

After Wednesday's postgame show, Terry Ford spent the first few segments of his program dissecting the loss and talking about how the loisng streak is starting to rub off on Hyde and his players.
