Slowly but surely, football is inching its way back into our lives. The draft is just one week away and preseason schedules are hot off the presses.

For the Baltimore Ravens and the rest of the 31 NFL teams, the wait is finally over. Regular season schedules will be officially released tonight at 8 pm.

The Ravens’ 2018 opponents were finalized by the end of the last season but the dates and times of games will be announced tonight.

Home: Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers, Denver Broncos, New Orleans Saints, Oakland Raiders, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Buffalo Bills

Away: Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers, Carolina Panthers, Kansas City Chiefs, Atlanta Falcons, Los Angeles Chargers, Tennessee Titans

Assessing the schedule with just the opponents, the Ravens’ road games do not provide any favors. Traveling to Carolina, Kansas City, Atlanta, and Tennessee will be tough matchups for John Harbaugh and company. On the flip side, the home schedule offers intriguing matchups outside of the division as the Saints, Broncos, and Buccaneers come into town.

Primetime games will be calling card for most fans. It’s the opportunity to watch their team on the national stage, whether it be on Thursday, Sunday or Monday night. The change of pace from the regularly scheduled Sunday afternoon games can be refreshing.

The placement of the bye week will be something to watch with the Ravens’ schedule. A week off in the midst of a grueling 16-game season is a much-needed scapegoat for every team. Baltimore elected to forgo an early bye last season after a Week 3 matchup in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars last season.

Since their inaugural season in 1996, the Ravens hold a combined record of 190-161-1. They’ll look to improve on that record in 2018 with hopes of a postseason berth.
