On Thursday the Ravens announced they are discontinuing the traditional paper season tickets and adopting a new digital ticketing system.

Starting this season stadium attendees will have two ticketing options. Fans can use the Ravens Mobile App on their smartphone to access tickets, transfer tickets to a guest or sell tickets. Ravens season ticket holders will receive a PSL Owner Season Ticket card, similar to a hotel room key that they can swipe to enter to the stadium.

What inspired the change? According to a press release from the Ravens, “This is another step forward in our mission to enrich the game day experience and deliver convenience for our fans,” Ravens senior vice president of ticket sales and operations Baker Koppelman stated.

Koppelman announced that this tool will be streamlined across the stadium to make the ticketing experience more efficient.

The Ravens aren’t the only NFL team adopting a digital system. “This is an NFL initiative that all teams must implement by 2019, but we’re excited to move forward this season so our fans have a simple, smart and secure way to use Ravens tickets,” said Ravens president Dick Cass.
