Hollywood Brown & Ravens Verbally Agree On A Contract

Marquise Brown is one step closer to officially becoming a Raven after the two sides verbally agreed to a deal in principle this morning. Brown has been with the team since rookie minicamps but hasn't been able to participate in practices due to his lisfranc injury he suffered in the Big 12 championship game last December.

Once he's on the field and healthy, Brown brings dynamic speed to a Ravens offense that was devoid of a gamebreaker outside of Lamar Jackson last season. Now, defenses will have to account for Brown on the back end of the defense while also trying to contain Jackson and the Ravens run heavy attack. "Hollywood" is expected to be able to practice at some point during training camp and the Ravens are hoping they have finally found a true impact receiver in the first round. He's just the 4th receiver drafted in the 1st round in Ravens history and the first one since Breshad Periman went 26th overall in 2015.

Perriman also came into his rookie season with injury concerns. He struggled getting up to game speed and catching the ball. There aren't many questions about Brown's hands but only time will tell if he will have to deal with injury concerns throughout his career; considering his slight build at 5'10' 168 lbs.

Now, 3rd round receiver Miles Boykin remains the only player from the 2019 draft class that is still unsigned. Mandatory minicamps start next week and training camp starts next month. A deal should be coming sooner than later.
