Justice Hill is the Sleeper of the Ravens' Backfield

The Ravens are expected to feature a physical running game this season, but with a side order of speed.

Eric DeCosta priotized adding speedy playmakers around Lamar Jackson this offseason, and fourth-round running back Justice Hill is one of the exciting weapons that will be featured in the backfield.

Hill is the true sleeper of this running back group. At 5-foot-10, 198 pounds, he’s unlike the rest of the running backs on the roster. Hill is an elusive back that posted the fastest 40-yard dash time at the NFL Combine  (4.4 seconds). His mantra is to beat you with speed.

The Ravens have lacked a home-run hitting presence in the backfield and Hill gives them that. He likely won’t get a ton of touches with Mark Ingram and Gus Edwards carrying the load, but he has the ability to score and produce long-yardage plays on every touch. That will help spread out the offense and keep opposing defenses on their heels.

The Ravens’ backfield is an extremely interesting group to watch overall and Hill could be a part of that success in 2019. Also look for him to compete as a punt returner. With Cryus Jones’ absence this offseason, the position is wide open.

Hill is just a rookie who hasn’t played a game in his professional career, but I have a hard time believing Greg Roman and the offensive coaching staff won’t involve a running back with Hill’s talent.
