After an emotional offseason surrounding the death of Jordan McNair, the Maryland Terrapin football team took down No. 23 Texas for the second straight year, inching out a 34-29 win at FedEx Field on Saturday afternoon.

Plenty of questions surrounded the Terps heading into a new football season with interim head coach Matt Canada at the helm, but they honored their former teammate in the best way possible, with a win.

And in the process, Jeshaun Jones was a standout star.

The freshman wide receiver had quite the debut. He threw, caught and ran for a touchdown, all in the first half of the Terps' win. He became only the fourth true freshman to do so in the last 20+ years.

The former three-star recruit has already made his mark on a national stage in just one game and gives redshirt freshamn quarterback Kasim Hill a huge boost in the passing game after losing top receiver D.J. Moore to the NFL.

The Terps will look to start off 2-0 on the season next Saturday night at Bowling Green. For more news on the Terps, make sure to listen to 105.7 the Fan on Radio.com.
