It’s no surprise that Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome loves his Crimson Tide.

Newsome, who grew up in Muscle Shores, Alabama, went to the University of Alabama. In his last draft as GM, Newsome added cornerback Anthony Averett and center Bradley Bozeman. Both Averett and Bozeman won the 2018 National Championship with Nick Saban’s Alabama squad and are back together in Baltimore.

A few familiar faces are in the locker room to welcome them. Marlon Humphrey started with Averett in the 2016 National Championship Game. Averett told the Baltimore media “It’s just going to be like old times.”

Along the defensive front, former teammate Tim Williams is looking to gain snaps as CJ Mosely is a consistent Pro-Bowler.

Averett and Bozeman should feel right at home with their former teammates, playing in and having won national title games. Though this year was Newsome’s last, his Alabama ties will be with the Ravens for many years to come.
