The Rockets have tied the series at 2-2 and are going back to Houston.

After dropping game 1 at home, many people counted the Rockets out. (Yes, I’m talking to you, Charles!)

After losing Game 3 in Golden State, the Rockets grinded out a gritty road win in the Oracle Arena.

Houston defeated the Warriors 95-92 Tuesday night in Golden State. This game was exactly what the NBA has been missing. A competitive, down to the wire showdown against the juggernaut Warriors.

It was a game of runs as the Warriors started the game leading 12-0. The Rockets outscored them 34-18 in the second quarter to have a seven point lead at halftime.

In the 3rd quarter, two-time MVP Steph Curry went crazy and brought the Warriors out of the deficit. Curry hit his second three of the quarter midway through the 3rd.

20 seconds later, another three.

30 seconds after, another three.

After dropping in a layup, Curry finished the quarter for his fifth three pointer. He scored 16 points while the Rockets in total scored just 17 points in the quarter.

The fourth quarter was all Rockets as it was the play of PJ Tucker and Trevor Ariza that led to the win. Sure, Harden and Paul were making tough jump shots and timely buckets. However it was the defense and pressure put on the Warriors by Tucker and Ariza that held Golden State to just 12 points in the fourth.

James Harden finished with 30 points and four assists. Chris Paul chipped in 27 points, connecting on five three pointers. In the loss, Stephen Curry dropped 28 points on six three-pointers, a majority of both coming in that magical third quarter. Kevin Durant scored 27 points, but just on 37.5% shooting.

With Game 5 heading back to Houston, the Rockets are looking to ride their momentum for a potential close-out game in Golden State.

Regardless of what’s to come, this series has yet to disappoint. Both teams are offensive powerhouses though it comes down to defensive stops to win games. Tuesday night, the Rockets made a concerted effort on defense to secure the win.
