According to ESPN NFL Insider Field Yates, the Baltimore Ravens have exercised tackle Ronnie Stanley's 5th-year option.

Stanley was set to enter the final year of his rookie contract this season but is locked up through the 2020 season. He will make roughly 13 million next season.

I wrote about this yesterday, but this was a no-brainer move for the Ravens ahead of the May 3 deadline. Stanley posted the 3rd highest pass-blocking grade among offensive tackles in 2018, per Pro Football Focus and solidified the left edge of the offensive line for Joe Flacco and Lamar Jackson.

Stanley is a candidate to receive a long-term extension in the near future. General Manager Eric DeCosta spoke about taking care of the organization's young players, as evident with new deals for cornerback Tavon Young and tight end Nick Boyle. Locking up one of the league's brightest young tackles will surely be atop of the priority list.

It's vitally important to have stability on the offensive line with a young quarterback. As Lamar Jackson enters his second season, he has Stanley and Orlando Brown Jr. on the edge and one of the league's best guards in Marshal Yanda protecting the inside.
