Report: Jimmy Smith Facing Potential Suspension

According to The Athletic’s Jeff Zrebiec, Baltimore Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith is potentially facing a multi-week suspension.

Smith is reportedly appealing the suspension.

The 30-year-old tore his Achilles in early December and was suspended four games for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.

Smith has made a remarkable recovery and returned to practice just six months later. He’s played like an All-Pro corner when on the field but his inability to stay on the field for one reason or another has been an issue.

Smith has played a full season only twice and this explains the Ravens interest in cornerback Breshad Breeland late last month.
