Ravens Seeking Revenge in Week 2

We all remember the meltdown last season. In the final week of the regular season, the Ravens’ playoff hopes were entirely in their own hands. With a win, Baltimore could have clinched a playoff berth.

On a 4th and 12, the Ravens solo job was to prevent the Bengals from scoring. Instead Tyler Boyd caught a touchdown pass up the seam for 47 yards and the Bengals halted the Ravens playoff push.

In 2018, the Ravens have an entirely new look offensively. They struggled in last year’s game (as well as the entire season) to move the chains.

Baltimore plays the Bengals in week 2 and the Ravens have tons of momentum. Not only did they smoke the Bills 47-3 in the season opener, they are out for revenge.

All three free agent signings (Michael Crabtree, Willie Snead IV, and John Brown) in the receiving core scored against Buffalo. The run game never needed to get going, as the Flock swarmed from the opening kick.

Look for the Ravens to establish the run game early against their division foe, who is without star linebacker Vontaze Burfict due to suspension.

In the past, the Ravens have had trouble containing AJ Green. Green has been a thorn in their side. Green caught six catches for 92 yards in the Bengals win over Indianapolis, though he fumbled twice. Look for the Ravens to look to expose his ball security.

The Bengals will look to control the clock, with emerging running back Joe Mixon. Mixon had a field day against the Colts, but he won’t be facing that easy of a defense come Thursday night.

The Ravens defense allowed just 153 yards in Week 1 and just 70 yards in the air. They shouldn’t have trouble stopping the Red Rocket or the receiving core.

Although just week 2, the Ravens have a huge statement game that can propel their season. A win over a division rival, who has taking many opportunities away, would provide the mental edge Baltimore needs moving forward. And as if they needed any more fuel to the fire.

At the very least, they can get sweet revenge and remain undefeated early in the season.
