The Ravens have placed Marquise Brown, Jaylon Ferguson, Daylon Mack, and Jaylon Smith on the non-football injury list, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.

According to Rapoport, Brown is progressing well and expected to be back on the field in a few weeks. The rookie first-round pick is recovering from a Lisfranc foot injury. Rapoport also mentioned that Ferguson is dealing with a minor hamstring injury.

The NFL's non-football injury list "is reserved for players unable to practice for reasons unrelated to professional football, once medically cleared." In the Ravens' case, these players weren't able to perform or pass the team's conditioning test. ESPN's Jamison Hensley and The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec ackowledged that the Ravens have one of the most difficult coniditioning tests in the NFL.

Former players attested to that notion.

Once players pass the coniditioning test, they can return off the non-football injury list and begin practicing.

Mike Wallace, Jerraud Powers, and Lardarius Webb failed conditioning tests while in Baltimore. All three were able to return and contribute, so there's really no need to put much stock into this news. It's more important to note that Brown is progressing in a timely fashion. He's expected to be one of the Ravens' key offensive weapons this season, but Lisfranc injuries can be tricky to work back from. Head Coach John Harbaugh and his staff seem to be taking their time easing Brown back into football activities.

Rookies have already reported to Owings Mills and the rest of the 90-man roster will report next Wednesday as the Ravens are scheduled for their first training camp practice on the 25th.
