Ravens Go Undefeated in Preseason

Win 30-20 over Redskins

Take it for what it’s worth. After a 30-20 win over Washington, the Ravens finished preseason 5-0. The win led to the 13th straight preseason victory for Baltimore.

The Ravens surprised many, as they decided not to use backup quarterback Robert Griffin III. The move seems indicative that Griffin III will make the team and serve as backup. The Ravens decision not to use him is viewed as a precaution to ensure Griffin III’s health.

Lamar Jackson started and played the entire first half, completing 60% of his passes. He threw for 109 yards and even though he didn’t throw for a touchdown, he faked the defense into a rushing score.

The preseason served as a friendly reminder that Jackson needs more time to progress into a franchise quarterback. He showed professional drives from time to time and provided splashy plays, but overall Jackson needs to learn from Joe Flacco and RG3.

Breshad Perriman caught three balls for 24 yards in what may have been his last game in the Purple and Black.

Former third-round pick Bronson Kaufusi played a terrific game, recording eight tackles along with two sacks.

Ravens safety Kai Nacua picked off Redskins quarterback Kevin Hogan early in the 3rd quarter and brought it back for a pick-six.

Nacua was viewed as on the bubble before cut-day, but a recent injury to Stanley Jean-Baptiste may give Nacua the opportunity he was waiting for.

Punter Kaare Vedvik showed off his value during the preseason. He averaged 42 yards per punt and connected on all three field goal attempts, including this 56 yarder.

The Ravens finally can look forward to week 1 against the Bills on September 9th in Baltimore.
