With less than an hour until the NFL trade deadline, the Baltimore Ravens are making a move and they’re adding a new face to the backfield.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Ravens have acquired Green Bay Packers running back Ty Montgomery for a 2020 7th-round pick.

Montgomery, a former third-round draft pick, spent the first three-and-a-half years of his NFL career with the Packers.

A former receiver turned running back, Montgomery’s best season came in 2016. He totaled 805 scrimmage yards – 457 rushing and 348 receiving – along with three total touchdowns.

Montgomery was apart of a crowded running back group this season and his last straw in Green Bay seemed to come on Sunday. His ill-advised decision to return a kickoff late in the fourth quarter against the Los Angeles Rams resulted in a fumble – costing the Packers a win.

The Ravens currently rank 24th in average rushing yards per game (96.6) and have yet to find consistency on the ground.

They give up essentially nothing to acquire Montgomery as he’ll join Alex Collins, Buck Allen and Gus Edwards in Baltimore’s backfield.
