Boston Red Sox pitcher David Price was scratched from his start Wednesday against the Yankees. There was a bunch of speculation on Price’s reasoning, as the Red Sox ruled him out with “carpel tunnel syndrome.” The injury has been questioned for a variety of reasons, in particular the fact that Price has been playing “Fortnite” at the park.

“Fortnite” is a game being played by a majority of teens across the nation and Price and some of his teammates have joined in.

“I won’t be playing at the field. That’s already caused enough noise.” When talking about whether “Fortnite” was the cause of injury, Price said “That’s not the issue though, I promise you that.”

Another theory was that Price missed his start in attempt to “duck the Yankees.”

Price hasn’t had much success against the Bronx Bombers, but there was a defense for that theory as well.

The cause of Price’s injury is still unknown, though he will make his next start on Saturday against the Blue Jays. For Red Sox fans, Price needs to be ready to go against premier teams like the Yankees. Especially since he’s on a seven-year, $217 million contract.

Price will stop playing Fortnite, yet won’t stop getting questioned about his injury and decision to sit against New York.
