The Orioles found themselves with the lead going into the 8th inning, only to see themselves squander the win away.

Baltimore lost Tuesday night in Chicago against the White Sox 3-2.

They got off to a fast start as Mark Trumbo lined an RBI double in the top of the 2nd for a 1-0 lead. A fielder’s choice allowed Pedro Alvarez to score, pushing the O’s lead to 2-0.

Kevin Gausman pitched a solid game, going 6.1 innings and striking out 10 batters. Gausman's pitch count drove him out of the game in the seventh inning, as he allowed nine hits.

Orioles’ reliever Mychal Givens came in and finished off the seventh inning. In the eighth inning, Givens got himself into trouble. He surrendered a leadoff triple to Daniel Parka, who scored on an RBI single by Welington Castillo. After giving up a single and a walk, Givens left the game with the bases loaded.

Richard Bleier came in for relief and gave up a sacrifice fly to Yoan Moncada, as the White Sox tied the game up at 2-2. Yolmer Sanchez singled in the go-ahead run and the O’s found themselves losing 3-2.

Nate Jones came in and recorded the save as Baltimore lost 3-2. The O’s are now 2-4 on their current road trip and have two more games in Chicago before heading to Tampa Bay.
