The Orioles trip to Los Angeles has been a pleasant surprise.

An 8-7 win Saturday made it three consecutive wins for Baltimore, as they will look to complete a four-game series sweep Sunday.

The star of the day Saturday was catcher Pedro Severino. Severino started the game off with a two-out, two-run single that gave Baltimore an early 2-0 lead.

Angels star Mike Trout evened the score in the bottom of the 1st inning, after a two-run home run off of O’s pitcher Aaron Brooks.

The Angels took a two-run lead after David Fletcher’s two-run double the next inning. In the top of the 3rd, Severino came up pick again as his two-run homerun gave the Orioles a 5-4 lead.

Baltimore held off a big night from the Angels big-three. Although the Angels received homeruns from Trout, Shohei Ohtani, and Albert Pujols, Baltimore kept responding back.

Heading into the 8th inning, the game was tied at 6-6. Second baseman Hanser Alberto came up clutch as his single up the middle plated two Orioles and gave Baltimore an 8-6 lead they would never relinquish.

Mychal Givens came on for a four-out save and although it wasn’t pretty, the Orioles secured the victory.

Orioles pitcher Dylan Bundy will get the call Sunday as the O’s look to complete the sweep over Los Angeles. Bundy has had his fair share of struggles against the Angels, posting a 7.13 ERA in four career games.
