In their doubleheader with the Rays, a tale of two tapes took place for the Orioles at Camden Yards.

Baltimore took the first game against their AL East rival with a 2-1 victory.

Stevie Wilkerson’s two-run homer proved to be the deciding factor as he crushed his eight homerun against Colin Poche.

The Orioles were crushed in a 12-4 blowout loss in the second game of the doubleheader.

Orioles All-Star John Means surrendered three homeruns and six earned runs in six innings of work.

Rays third baseman Michael Brosseau connected on a two-run homerun in the 2nd inning to give the Rays a 2-0 lead. Yandy Diaz’ solo home run in the 4th inning pushed the lead to 3-0.

Wilkerson continued to put runs on the board for Baltimore as his single to right field scored two runs to cut the lead 3-2.

Means surrendered another two-run homerun in the 6th inning, this time to first baseman Nate Lowe.

The Rays homerun derby continued after Means’ exit as left fielder Tommy Pham broke the game wide open with a two-run homer in the 7th inning as the Rays grew an 8-2 lead.

Lowe and Brosseau added homeruns respectively in the 9th inning as the Rays went on to win 12-4.

The Orioles haven’t been able to keep opponents in the ballpark. Brosseau’s homer in the 9th inning was the 104th home run allowed by an Orioles pitcher at Camden Yards. They are a league-worst 12-33 at home.

The series with Tampa Bay wraps up Sunday before the Nationals come to town Tuesday.
