The Orioles lost four of their past five games on their current home stand heading into Thursday’s matchup with the Nationals.

After losing 8-1 Wednesday, the O’s bounced back with a 9-2 victory in Camden Yards.

Orioles outfielder Trey Mancini evened the score 1-1 with a solo homerun in the 4th inning.

Nationals outfielder Adam Eaton added his second RBI of the game with an RBI double in the 5th to retake a 2-1 lead.

The Orioles’ bats sparked late as they tallied three runs in the 7th inning. Left fielder Anthony Santander and first baseman Chris Davis both added RBI singles as well as a sacrifice fly from Rio Ruiz. The collective effort gave Baltimore a 4-2 lead they would never surrender.

Mancini went yard in the 8th inning for the second time of the ball game, a two-run shot that blew the game open.

A strong 8th inning surge ensured a much-needed Orioles victory. The O’s have one home series left with the Red Sox before heading on a nine-game West Coast trip.
