The Orioles drop game one of their doubleheader with the Red Sox, 5-0

The Baltimore Orioles lost the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday 5-0 to the Boston Red Sox. Baltimore is now on a three-game losing streak as Jimmy Yacabonis picked up his first loss of the season. 

Yacabonis pitched well for four innings as he only gave up one hit in that stretch. However, in the fifth inning, he collapsed. Yacabonis allowed four hits and three runs before he was pulled. It started with a Xander Boegaerts single, and two batters later, Eduardo Núñez. hit a two-run homer. 

Two batters later, Jackie Bradley Jr. hit a solo homer. 

Sean Gilmartin entered in the fifth inning for Yacabonis, and he retired the side after allowing one hit. 

In the sixth inning, Bogaerts scored via an error by Renato Núñez. In his debut with the Orioles, Gilmartin went 2 1/3 and only allowed one earned run and three hits. He struggled with his command as he walked two batters.

Castro would then enter the game in the eighth inning, and he allowed only one hit and one run in two innings of work. In the ninth inning, Bradley Jr. hit his second home run of the day to extend Boston's lead to 5. 

Baltimore's offense was non-existent in game one of the doubleheader as David Price pitched six scoreless innings and picked up his 12th win of the season. The Orioles only recorded five hits on the day. 

Baltimore will try to snap their three-game losing streak on Saturday night as Yefry Ramirez will take the mound. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm ET.
