After winning the series with the Braves, the Orioles are now looking to salvage the series with Seattle.

The O’s lost their second straight game, once again to the Mariners. The 3-2 loss spoiled a solid performance by Kevin Gausman, who allowed just one run over six innings.

Mariners ace James Paxton struck out 10 Orioles over seven innings as he improved his record to 7-2.

The O’s threw the first punch when Danny Valencia took Paxton deep for a solo homerun.

The lead vanished quickly as Kyle Seager homered as well in the 4th inning, tying the game 1-1.

Paxton gave up a run in the sixth inning, as Caleb Joseph scored after Manny Machado hit into a double play.

With the Orioles up 2-1, Darren O’Day came in for the hold. His night was underwhelming to say the least, as he surrendered a double to Dee Gordon and a single to Jean Segura. O’Day left the game with an apparent injury, with runners on second and third and no outs.

Tanner Scott came in to stop any damage and walked the first batter he faced. Kyle Seager came through once again for Seattle as a two-run single ripped the hearts out of the Orioles.

With a 3-2 lead, Edwin Diaz came in for the save and shut down the Orioles as Seattle held on for the victory.

Baltimore has two more games against Seattle, as they look to split the series as Alex Cobb takes the mound Wednesday night.
