Andrew Cashner lost his 14th game of the season as the Mariners routed Baltimore 5-2 in Seattle.

He went just 4.2 innings, in which he allowed seven hits (three homeruns).

In the first inning, Cashner surrendered a solo homerun by Mitch Haniger.

In the 5th inning, the Orioles fought to get Cashner the lead. Cedric Mullins scored on a misplayed throw to tie the game 1-1.

Another error committed by Seattle scored Adam Jones, as the Orioles led 2-1.

Cashner pitched in the bottom frame, in which he allowed two homeruns to Nelson Cruz as well as Denard Span.

Span hit an RBI single to push the lead to 4-2. Small-ball baseball allowed the O’s to extend the lead, as a sacrifice bunt by Guillermo Heredia gave the Mariners a 5-2 lead they wouldn’t falter.

In a game where the Mariners committed three errors, this is a terrible loss by Baltimore. Not much has gone right this season, but these are the games that should be won moving forward.

The O’s (41-99) are off to Tampa Bay, where they hope not to pick up their 100th loss of the season.
