The Orioles lost their third straight game to the Mariners, though this time in heart-breaking fashion.

Baltimore got off to a hot start as Danny Valencia hit a two-run homer to gain an early 2-0 lead. Valencia has four hits in his last seven at-bats, including a home run in the both games.

Unfortunately Alex Cobb wouldn’t be able to hold the lead. The Mariners rocked Cobb as Ryon Healy hit a solo homerun in the 2nd inning. In the 3rd inning, Denard Span hit an RBI single to tie the game at 2-2.

The Orioles did whatever they could to keep giving Cobb a lead. Mark Trumbo hit a two-run single to push the Orioles lead to 4-2.

In the top of the 5th inning, Healy brought in a run on a sacrifice fly. The next batter Mike Zunino hit a two-run single of his own to give the Mariners a 5-4 lead.

Chris Davis showed flashes of his old self as he crushed a three-run home run off Mariners reliever Alex Colome to retake the lead 7-5.

Zach Britton came on in the 9th for the save. After a single by Mitch Haniger, Kyle Seager drilled a two-run home run to tie the game at 7-7. Seager was responsible for all three runs the previous game as he’s proven to be a thorn in the O’s side.

We were on to free baseball.

Mychal Givens allowed a double to start the 11th inning as Donnie Hart would come in for relief. After a single by Seager, Denard Span drove in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly.

Edwin Diaz came in for Seattle to notch the save as the Orioles fall again, 8-7.
