After losing Matt Skura to a season-ending knee injury, the Ravens have signed veteran center Jake Brendel.

Brendel, who came into the league in 2016 as an undrafted rookie, spent his first three seasons with the Miami Dolphins. He appeared in 21 games and started in three.

Following his stint in Miami, Brendel signed with the Denver Broncos at the beginning of the offseason, but was cut before the start of the 2019 season.

Brendel will serve as quality depth with Skura out. Undrafted rookie Patrick Mekari took over for Skura during Monday night's win and is the presumed starter going forward while Brendel will serve as the backup.
