The Lamar Jackson era can officially begin in Baltimore. Just over a month after being selected 32nd overall in the 2018 NFL draft, Jackson has signed his rookie contract with the Ravens.

Jackson’s four-year deal is worth $9.471 million and includes a $4.968 million signing bonus, per Russell Street Report’s Brian McFarland. Not too shabby of a payday for the former Heisman Trophy Winner.

In his final year at the helm, Ozzie Newsome made waves when the Ravens traded back into the first round to select Jackson. Aside from finding Joe Flacco’s successor, a large part of the reasoning revolved around the coveted fifth-year option. It was the difference between one pick for the Ravens and they secured that luxury with Jackson.

Jackson was criticized for not signing an agent during the pre-draft process and letting his mom take care of those duties instead. So far, it hasn’t seemed to hinder any of the contract talks with the Ravens.

With Jackson officially under contract, first round tight end Hayden Hurst remains the only unsigned player from the 12-man draft class. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, there shouldn't be any Joey Bosa-like contract situations this season.

The Ravens finish up the last three days of OTAs this week before mandatory minicamp begins on June 12th.
