Devastating injury for Stanley Jean-Baptiste

Cornerback Breaks Arm in Last Preseason Game

Ravens cornerback Stanley Jean-Baptiste played tremendous throughout the offseason and in preseason games.

In the two games prior to Thursday, he recorded 12 tackles along with two interceptions. With Jimmy Smith set to serve a four-game suspension, Jean-Baptiste appeared to be a lock to make the team.

During the last preseason game Thursday night, Jean-Baptiste got injured and it appeared to be his forearm. Now news has broke that he has in fact broke his arm.

With a broken arm, the Ravens will put him on Injured Reserve allowing for another player to make the 53-man roster. Perhaps this opening rationalizes coach Harbaugh keeping a third quarterback in Robert Griffin III.

Perhaps the injury leads to Kai Nacua making the roster, after he caught a pick-six in the Ravens 30-20 win over the Redskins.

Regardless of who makes the team, seeing an injury as severe as a broken arm is never fun to see. Jean-Baptiste played well and earned a roster spot. The unfortunate injury is hopefully just a setback en route to a bigger comeback.

Wishing Jean-Baptiste the best in his recovery.
