One week after being carted off the field with a bone bruise in his knee against the Cincinnati Bengals, Baltimore Ravens linebacker C.J. Mosley returned to practice.

Mosley participated on a limited basis but his return was a surprise to many given the uncertainty of his original injury. The Ravens have been unclear about a definitive timetable for his return and this sheds some light on the situation.

In the final year of his rookie contract, Mosley continues to show he means business on the field and that the money will follow.

However, don't expect Mosley to play on Sunday against the Denver Broncos – it's a long shot. The Ravens will be cautious with his return and he'll have extended time to recover before a crucial Week 4 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

That would likely give Kenny Young the start. The high-flying rookie linebacker replaced Mosley against the Bengals and impressed, totaling four tackles and put together a solid performance against the Bills in Week 1.

The Ravens' linebackers will be up against a tough task facing a tandem of two elusive rookie running backs in Royce Freeman and Phillip Lindsay.
