CJ Mosley joined the Vinny & Haynie show Wednesday to talk about the upcoming matchup with the Carolina Panthers.

The three-time Pro Bowler spoke on the threat that quarterback Cam Newton presents to the Ravens #1 ranked defense.

“Anytime you have a dual threat QB, it’s a threat to your defense. Whether he's running or scrambling in the backfield, we have to hit him like a running back.”

At 6'5, 245 pounds, Newton presents a major threat every week. The Panthers (4-2) are coming off a huge victory over the defending champion Eagles, including a 17-point comeback in the 4th quarter.

The key to Carolina's offense has swam or sunk with Newton.

In 2015, Newton won the MVP, went 15-1 in the regular season, and led the Panthers to the Super Bowl.

The following season, a variety of laboring injuries for Newton showed up on film and as his production declined, as did the Panthers who went 6-10.

The injury history is always a concern for Newton, and it's because of his dual threat abilities.

The Ravens know that when he gets out of the pocket, he has to be hit as if he were a running back. It will be worth noting how often Newton uses his legs against a gritty, tough defense in the Ravens.

Even safety Eric Weddle commented on Newton's freakish ability.

Mosley should surely be able to keep up with Newton's speed, as he's proven to be one of the league's most elite linebackers.
