Cashner Gets No Support As O's Fall

Orioles Lose 2-1 to Blue Jays

Andrew Cashner had a dominating performance Tuesday night and still saw Baltimore lose the game.

The O’s lost a heartbreaker 2-1 to the Toronto Blue Jays down at Camden Yards.

Cashner was dealing, pitching seven shutout innings. He finished allowing just four hits and striking out six.  A starting pitcher giving seven quality innings should be enough right?

As impressive as Cashner was, Blue Jays pitcher Aaron Sanchez was even more impressive. Sanchez had a no-hitter going into the 8th, when Tim Beckham ripped a double to stop the bleeding. Though Baltimore would tie the game at 1-1 with an RBI double by Chance Sisco, they finished with just four hits on the night. Sanchez surrendered just one run to Baltimore.

Blue Jays outfielder Curtis Granderson smacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth and the 2-1 lead was all Toronto needed. Roberto Osuna came in and closed out the game.

The Orioles (4-8) have one final game Wednesday night against Toronto and then head off to Boston for a four-game set starting Friday.
