Orioles pitcher Andrew Cashner pitched a day to forget Thursday night as the O’s lost 17-8.

Cashner lasted just 1.2 innings where he surrendered 10 earned runs on seven hits. In the 1st inning Jurickson Profar hit a three-run homerun to give Texas a 3-1 lead.

The 2nd inning was just as disastrous for Cashner. Delino DeShields started off with an RBI double followed by an RBI single by Elvis Andrus.  After a wild pitch, the Rangers led 6-1. Profar continued the battering with an RBI single of his own. A pair of RBI doubles, including a two-run double by Isiah Kiner-Falefa pushed the Rangers lead to 10-1.

In the 3rd and 4th inning, respectively, the Rangers added three more runs on a pair of RBI doubles and a based-loaded walk to make the lead 13-1.

Baltimore finally responded with some life, as Mark Trumbo roped a two-run homerun in the 5th inning.

The following inning, Caleb Joseph added a two-run homerun of his own to cut the deficit to 13-5.

Rangers’ second baseman Rougned Odor matched Joseph’s two-run homer with one of his own as Texas regained a 10-run lead.

The O’s added three runs in the ninth inning, two coming off a two-run homer by Trey Mancini.

In the end, Baltimore were taken behind the woodshed in a 17-8 defeat. Their next game is Friday night as David Hess returns to the rotation.
