The Orioles -and their fans- are counting down the days until the end of the season.

After the Red Sox 6-2 victory Monday night, the Orioles are now 60.5 games back in the AL East. Of course the O’s have been out of the playoff hunt and division race for quite some time. Nevertheless 60.5 is an enormous number.

In the loss, the O’s allowed the Red Sox to gain their franchise record 106th win on the season. Meanwhile, Baltimore recorded their 111th loss in the process.

Dylan Bundy struggled once again, as he picked up his 16th loss on the season. He lasted just three innings, allowing four earned runs on five hits and three walks.

After a clean opening inning, Bundy struggles began in the 2nd. Brock Holt roped an RBI double to gain a 1-0 lead. After an RBI single by Christian Vasquez, MVP front runnerMookie Betts smashed a two-run home run to push the lead to 4-0.

In the 4th inning, back-to-back RBI singles by Andrew Benintendi and Xander Bogaerts respectively gave the Red Sox a 6-0 lead.

Nathan Eovaldi shut down the O’s bats, as he finished with 10 strikeouts in just five innings of work. The only run surrendered by Eovaldi came on a wild pitch which allowed Tim Beckham to score.

Adam Jones added a sacrifice fly in the 8th inning, which scored Caleb Joseph and cut the deficit to 6-2.

The Orioles have two final games against the Sox, with a four-game finale with the defending champion Astros.
