Orioles Swept by Nationals

We still have how many games left?

The Orioles continued their losing ways as they fell 2-0 Wednesday night to the Nationals in Camden Yards.

The offense has been poor for a majority of the season and it showed against the Nats, as the O’s were shut out for the second time in three nights.

Starting pitcher David Hess did a great job, allowing just one run in six innings. The only problem with that is Max Scherzer was on the mound for the Nationals. One run is too much comfort for the three-time Cy Young award winner.

Sure the O’s offense hasn’t performed all year, but they aren’t to blame for a loss against Scherzer. The man is unstoppable! Scherzer finished with 12 strikeouts and just two hits in eight innings pitched. He has 120 strikeouts on the season and we haven’t even hit June.

It wouldn’t be a Nationals win without a Bryce Harper highlight. Harper took Hess deep in the 3rd inning for his 18th home run of the season.

The Nats tacked on an additional run as Juan Soto ripped an RBI single in the 7th to push the score to 2-0.

The Orioles are in serious trouble as their record is 17-39 on the young season. To make matter worse, they host the Yankees (35-17) for a four-game set starting Thursday.
